Welcome and thank you for your interest in Pets for Vets Chicago Chapter!
Studies have shown that pets can be tremendously helpful in the rehabilitation process of someone suffering from PTSD or depression. Pets for Vets Chicago is a volunteer-run non-profit organization that pairs eligible veterans with shelter dogs that are specially selected from shelters and trained by qualified dog-trainers, and in need of a loving home. If you or someone you know is a veteran that could benefit from our program, please visit the Apply for a Pet section of our website to apply.
We are always looking for volunteers for every step of the process, from fundraising events to delivering the lucky dog to his excited new owner. Our Volunteer section outlines all of the areas you can get involved, and provides a link to our volunteer form.
If you or someone you know is a veteran suffering from PTSD, TBI, depression or anxiety, please visit our Apply for a Pet section and fill out an application. You can also call or email us to speak with someone directly who would be happy to answer any questions you might have about our program. This information can be found under the Contact Us tab.
Under the About Us and Chicago Chapter section you can learn where Pets for Vets began, and get news and updates from our Chicago Chapter.
All Chicago Chapters' upcoming Events will be listed in this section. Please be sure to stop by an event to show your support, or contact us if you are interested in volunteering.
Without your help Pets for Vets could not exist. Please visit the Donate section to ensure that Chicago Chapter can continue to change the lives of pets and veterans.
